Dan Crowell, sole proprietor of Soundview Aerial Photography,
has been capturing award-winning aerial photos of the Pacific
Northwest since 1987.
Dan started the company with a Cessna Cardinal and later upgraded
to a Cessna 185 Skywagon. The Skywagon has a larger engine which
has the ability to climb higher and faster, and the aircraft has
proven itself over the years in very roughed places such as Alaska
and Canada for getting in and out of the back country along short
and rough strips.
The plane is equipped with a hole in the belly for vertical photography,
a GPS system and an auto pilot. A custom mounting device was added which
allows Dan to capture true vertical photographs. This device is mounted
on the floor of the fuselage. The shot is previewed on a video monitor
and captured manually to provide an accurate photograph.
We use a high resolution Canon, 11.1 megapixel, full frame EOS-1Ds digital SLR.
Other equipment includes a 6x7 medium format and Hi-8 video.
Our lab is equipped with a 44 inch wide Format
Epson 9600 printer and a Kodak 8660 Dye Sub Printer to meet a client's specific printing needs.
